What are AE’s future stars working on?
|
|
| AE Americans18U CF Charlie Apfelbach (2011 GBN) |
Maybe the best OF prospect in the system both in and out of the classroom.
Apfelbach's powerful stroke has him hitting near .460 all spring and showing a lot of promise for AE this summer. Blessed
with terrific speed (6.92 60) and a nose for anything hit in the air, Apfelbach is the consummate teammate. He's young
with unreal upside potential and a LOCK for some lucky college program. Here's a quick peak at Charlie's Sunday night, April
25, in the cage. He's working on ruling the baseball world.

| AE Jacks 16U Stephen Smith, 2012, Catcher |
"Smittagio" can BANG! While hitting around
.500 this spring, Smith is developing nicely as a handler of pitchers and leader behind the plate. A bright 2012 Prospect,
Stephen Smith has a Peter McNitt-like passion for detail and hard work! A first-class prospect.

|
| AE Federals 18U MIF Matthew Touhy (LA 2011) |
Blessed with great hands, good speed and very strong
baseball instincts, Touhy is currently ranked near the head of the class at "Middle Infield University"; Academy
Elite. After handling 38 consectutive error-free chances, Touhy also started contributing offensively in 2010. Working
on straightening his stride to a more square position, he will begin to drive the ball as he matures. Touhy also paced
all AE infielders last season turning double plays.
Shown here working on loading and staying
"behind the baseball", Peter Mates, Evanston/Top Tier 14U, is doing our "tennis ball bounce" drill and
getting some free swings in the cage. A very aggressive and powerful hitter, Peter's footwork and lower half continue
to improve virtually every workout.

|
| AE's Henry Belton 12U Stud! |
Following in the footsteps of one of AE's greatest clutch
hitters of all time, Tommy Belton, young Henry is doing it from BOTH sides of the plate! Henry Belton LOVES to hit and is
fearless. This kid is gonna play a LOT of baseball! He's practicing proper footwork, posture and load position. His
bunt is "SICK!"
